Developed for long term, short-handed ocean sailing in comfort, the stylish Coast 50 incorporates the latest design concept together with unique and innovative features. Built in aluminum the Coast 50 is much stronger, at a cost close to that of a fiberglass catamaran of the same specification.
The Coast 50 has a shallow draught and is designed to take the ground, by way of swing up keels and rudder blades. Each keel has replaceable fuses which allow the keel to swing up if it were to strike a submerged object to minimize damage. This system is vastly superior to sliding “dagger” boards found on some catamarans.
The Coast 50 is designed with comfort in mind with a large open-plan deck saloon with incorporated galley area. One hull is dedicated to the owner, with a double cabin, bathroom with heads and a utility room. The other hull has two versatile cabins which can be adapted to have wither double or twin berths depending on the guests or crew aboard.
The dual steering positions have been positioned under the aluminum bimini with good all round visibility. The deck saloon roof and aluminum bimini have been specifically designed to facilitate rain water collection, which can be fed directly into one of the main water tanks
